What Is the Make Room Advent Experience?
Make Room is a free shared national worship experience designed to help us enter the Advent season with intention.
Together, we will move through worship, Scripture, meditation, journaling, yoga, stillness, candle-lighting, blessing, and reflection as we prepare our hearts for Advent.
The national livestream will serve as the spiritual backbone of the experience. But the heart of Make Room extends beyond the screen.
Across different cities and communities, Watch Party Hosts will gather people together in local spaces where they can worship, breathe, reflect, move, pray, and experience the beginning of Advent in community.

As you promote, always use your unique Watch Party registration link so we can track registrations and you can have an accurate idea of how many guests to expect.
Sharing Photos and Videos
We’d love to see Make Room happening in communities across the country!
We’ve created a shared Make Room photo gallery so Watch Parties across the country can capture and share moments from the experience together.
- Download the printable QR code graphic from the Resource Library and place it around your space so you and your guests can easily access and add to the shared photo gallery.
- Share on social media. We encourage you and your guests to share moments from your gathering and use #MakeRoomAdvent.
- Keep sharing optional. Some guests may prefer to stay present without taking or sharing photos, and that’s perfectly okay.
What you Need to Host
Hosting is less about performing and more about presence.
You’ll welcome your guests, help them settle into the experience, participate alongside your community, and guide a short reflection after the livestream ends.
You do not have to teach yoga, prepare a sermon, or create your own worship experience.
Flow in Faith will guide the shared experience through the national livestream. Your role is simply to create and hold the local space and turn on YouTube.
Each Host will need the following
- Space where a group can comfortably gather (Example: home, church, yoga or wellness studio, community space, or another welcoming location.)
- Reliable WiFi
- TV or Screen big enough for group to see and hear clearly
After the livestream
Feedback surveys will be shared at the end of the event via QR code.
Please encourage your attendees to complete the survey before they leave the event location.
Creating a Welcoming Environment
Your Watch Party doesn’t need a perfect setup. The goal is to create a comfortable environment where everyone feels welcomed, can see and hear the livestream, and participate in the experience.
- Greet guests as they arrive, help them get settled, and let them know what to expect.
- Create a comfortable atmosphere with thoughtful lighting, comfortable seating, and a prepared space.
- Keep refreshments simple and optional. Water, tea, or a light snack is plenty. Or invite guests to bring their own water.
- Be present. Your presence and hospitality will help set the tone for the experience.
As you prepare your space
- Arrange seating so everyone has a clear view of the screen and can hear the livestream.
- Leave room for gentle movement. Guests should be able to practice yoga from a chair or mat, depending on what feels best for their bodies.
- If guests will be using yoga mats, allow enough room for them to lie down and extend their arms without bumping into one another.
- If you’re primarily using chairs, leave enough space between them for guests to comfortably extend their arms and stand.
- Keep pathways and exits clear and make sure adding mats or chairs doesn’t block anyone’s view of the screen.
- Set up a small check-in area near the entrance for your sign-in process.
A note about expenses: Food, beverages, décor, and other hospitality touches are completely optional and are not required to host a Make Room Watch Party.
Flow in Faith will not provide reimbursement for optional hospitality expenses.
Technology Guide
Make Room will stream live on YouTube, and no YouTube account or password is required to watch.
Save or bookmark this link now so it’s easy to access on event day.
Before the Event
- Test your setup. Open the livestream link on the device you’ll use and make sure your Wi-Fi, screen or projector, and sound are working properly.
- Check the view and sound. Sit where your guests will be sitting to make sure everyone can comfortably see and hear.
- Know how you’ll connect. Whether you’re using a smart TV, HDMI cable, casting, or a projector, test the same setup you plan to use on event day.
Backup plan: If your Wi-Fi drops during the event, try switching to a phone hotspot as a backup connection. If you lose the stream completely and can't recover it, contact Quisha Umemba at 501-912-7452 for day-of help.
Spiritual Preparation
Before you welcome your guests, we invite you to make a little room for yourself, too.
Hosting can easily become about the details, the screen, the seating, the check-in, the people arriving.
Take a few moments before the gathering begins to become present to God and remember why you said yes.
A Prayer for Hosts
God, thank You for the people who will gather here today. As I prepare this space, prepare me too. Help me release the need to make everything perfect and allow me to be fully present. May each person who enters feel welcomed, cared for, and free to come just as they are. Make room in us for hope, for one another, and for You. Amen.
A Moment to Prepare
Before your guests arrive, find a comfortable seat and take a few slow breaths. Notice what you’re carrying into the experience, the excitement, the nerves, the to-do list, whatever is present.
You don’t have to manufacture a meaningful experience for anyone. Your invitation is to be present alongside the people you’ve gathered.
Take a breath and ask:
What do I need to release so I can be fully present for what God may do here?
Then, when you’re ready, open the doors and welcome your people.
